Another Alien Debate from Someone with No Scientific Background
Aliens are my favourite topic, I’ve recently started watching old X-Files episodes and could take about aliens for hours. Personally, I’m certain aliens exist. Our universe is enormous, so it’s unlikely that we’re all alone within said universe. Not to mention, I can’t imagine believing the notion that out of the billions upon billions of galaxies each with their own planets, that there aren’t at least a couple thousand lifeforms. Those lifeforms don’t have to be little grey men with super cool lasers like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, it could even just be a small plant or some Archaea bacteria (which in and of themselves are terrifying and radical, seriously look it up).
Now on the other hand, do I think we’ve encountered aliens already? Not in the way you’re thinking. We certainly haven’t had any cool jam sessions on a keyboard with a flying saucer (see above movie reference). I think aliens know we exist, but they might not care. We might not be the coolest species out there, and what might they benefit from associating with us? To conclude, do I believe aliens exist and have encountered our planet? Yes, yes I do.
