Strong Showing for the BA Cross Country Team at TDCAA Finals
The 2015 Cross Country season is almost over, and the Bishop Allen Cross Country team can look back on this season as a great one. After a strong showing at the Toronto District Catholic Athletic Association (TDCAA) Finals, eight athletes and one team will move on to the OFSAA Finals on November 7 in Collingwood.
The team even broke a school record at the TDCAA Finals. For the first time in school history, five Bishop Allen Cross Country teams placed in the top four in their respective races. The coaches are very proud of this accomplishment.
Grade 9 student Bradley Squarek finished first in the midget boys’ race and this is the first that a Bishop Allen athlete has won this race.
The midget girls’ team of Patricia Rasowski, Jessica Leamy, Samantha Beckles, Nicole Liut, and Lisa Holubec finished their race in third place. For the individual midget girls, Patricia Rasowski placed ninth. The junior girls’ team of Tamara Rabeda, Paloma DeMonte, Samantha Sagredo, Sanja Skoko, and Kirtarath Kaur scored a second place finish. Tamara Rabeda was fourth place in the junior girls’ individual race. The junior boys’ team of Dylan Paiva, Thomas Perry, Philip Costa, Michael Celejewski, and Renzo Villanoy placed third. For the individual junior boys, Dylan Pavia came in fifth place. Both the senior girls’ and senior boys’ teams came fourth. Mikaela Lucki finished second the senior girls’ race.
