One-Sitting Reads
[endif]--Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas:
In the fantastical kingdom of Adarlan, the most feared assassin in the land, Celaena Sardothien, has been betrayed and imprisoned in the salt mines of Endovier. However, she is given the chance to fight for her freedom—if she can win a competition to become the King’s personal assassin. Throne of Glass is part of a six book series, where every book has gotten better and better. The series is one of my all-time favourites because of the world illustrated and the intense emotion it inspires. Like, laughing, then crying, and tossing books at walls intense. Highly recommended.
[endif]--Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn:
If you’ve managed to avoid Gone Girl for this long, good for you. Your average is probably better off than mine is. As a person who read this while they had several projects due in the coming days, take it from me: Gone Girl is a book you want a lot of free time for. Why? On their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick Dunne finds his wife, Amy, gone. Nick is seen as the prime suspect for his wife's disappearance because of his suspicious actions. He doesn't seem upset or disappointed because of his wife's disappearance or potential death. He claims he's innocent, but is he really? That's the thing that keeps you hooked. It’s the ultimate thriller, giving you only tiny hints until the very end. This book kept me from all of my assignments for about six hours when I read it because I just had to find out what happened. Gone Girl is an amazing mystery novel with many thrilling and dark twists throughout.
